Our refurbished dining room

Goodbye to our missmatched wheelback chairs, green carpet and brown wood! They've been replaced by six gorgeous oak tables, a sideboard and arts and crafts style chairs, provided by local business Chantry House Oak. The old crocks with blue flowers (which I've tried unsuccessfully to break over the years) have gone to be replaced by plain white tableware. We're looking forward to showing off our new-look dining room - our regulars who have seen it are very impressed!

A new look for Room 1

It hurt to strip the lovely old fashioned wallpaper off the walls in our ground floor bedroom, but we think you'll like the redecoration more - cream walls with chocolate/coffee/cream wallpaper behind the beds and new curtains make this room contemporary and stylish. The sheets and blankets were replaced by duvets throughout the house last year.

... and for the family room

Well, only the pink paint on the walls, to be replaced with cream. The double glazing has also being replaced, and a flat screen television installed. We've got plans to put in a rooflight too, but this will have to wait until we've got listed planning consent!

New .... Home Made Bread on the menu

I used to make my own bread when the children were at home - and I got the bug to start baking again. All our bread is now home made, and I use stone ground flour from the Weald and Downland Museum for the wholemeal bread. Our jams and marmalade have, of course, always been made at The Old Store. Delicious!

Friday 13th July was lucky for us, as our second granddaughter, Zoe, arrived in the world. Here she is with big sister Martha. More photos on Facebook!
