When you're not relaxing in one of our lovely beamed Bedrooms or visiting one of the many local Attractions, you can unwind in our guest areas. The Old Store Guest House has a guest lounge, dining room, gardens and reception room where you are encouraged to put your feet up and chill out! In the winter you can sit in front of the fire and on those sunny days you can sit in the gardens and soak up the peaceful countryside!

For the comfort of all our guests, The Old Store is a no-smoking house. We ask our guests who wish to smoke to use the garden or car park.

Reception Room - Welcome to the Old Store! Your stay starts here ... leave your car in the car park and prepare to relax. Lounge - Enjoy a cup of tea and a chat with your fellow guests in our cosy guests' lounge. Railway enthusiasts will immediately notice our beautiful model train. It was built in 1898, and still works - in theory - although we haven't dared try it out! Dining Room - This room used to be the village shop, and we often imagine that we hear the ghosts of an earlier age here. The shelves in the middle of the room are the original delicatessen shelves, and there was once a telephone box outside the door. We have kept a traditional feel to the room, with wheelback chairs and crisp linen, and our guests tell us that it is just like an old fashioned tea shop. Gardens - With it's semi-circle of lawn overhung by a weeping birch and a tall cherry tree, the garden is the place to relax and unwind. Wander down the path, enjoying the herbaceous borders to either side, under the pergola, and down to the fruit and vegetable beds. Or just sit on one of the benches with a cup of tea and let the world pass you by!
Accessibility Our car park is flat and there are no steps into the house. There is space in the reception room to store wheelchairs, and the breakfast room is suitable for people in wheelchairs or with mobility difficulties. The ground floor room has a small step, which cannot be ramped, and so is suitable for people with reduced mobility who are not wholly reliant on a wheelchair. The first floor is accessed by a staircase with banister, and the single and double room on this floor have showers with a low step. We offer to carry your luggage to your room for you, and wish to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as we can.
